Yong-Man Kwon was born in Suwon (South Corea) in 1972.
He began drawing as a child and later attended the Art School of Seoul; he then moved to New York to pursue his artistic studies.
In 1998 he was recruited by the Légion Étrangère as an illustrator. In 2003 he got the french nationality and had been entitled as Official painter of the Armée de Terre, later he also became official painter of the Air and Espace et Marine in 2005 and 2012 respectively.
His studies had been very traditional but he creates now contemporary and realistic artworks full of energy and dynamism. Employing different grounds, lines and segmented colours he paints landscapes, portraits, everyday life scenes, military subjects or animals.
He paints for the love of art and to leave worldwide art amateurs breathless.
